When I was a child, a teacher in a psychology class asked us to imagine our future. Who would I become? A teacher, a lawyer, a financial analyst, maybe even an NBA player. Whatever the job, I pictured myself as a polished, confident adult, dressed in a sharp suit, walking among the skyscrapers of Los Angeles or New York.
Life took me somewhere else: into the promotional products industry. I tend to think of my role as a sales assistant to my customers — someone they can turn to for help getting an order right. It was never the career I dreamed of, but over time, it has become a familiar part of who I am.
These days, my work takes me between factories, print shops, warehouses, and ports. Through it all, my hope is simple: that every shipment leaves my customers happy with what they receive.
This is where life has brought me. And I have come to find a quiet kind of happiness in doing the little things well, one detail at a time.
